Harvest Weekend 2010 – The Butcher, The Baker, The Winemaker

AMOREHarvest weekend Amore will feature an array of home grown fruits and vegetables from AMORE Farms along with Fresh breads and selection of Past Amore dipping oils. We also hope to have our new three tier vineyard patio complete. 

BLUE MOUNTAIN: Harvest Weekend: Experience the harvest first hand! On Saturday, participate in the harvest of our 2010 Chardonnay crop which will be used for our upcoming vintage of Champagne.   Also, sample products produced by Tait Farms including jams, chutneys & oils. All ingredients are organically grown on their farm in Centre Hill, PA. These items will be used in various recipes and paired with our award-winning wines both days. Acoustic music on Saturday 1-4.  On Sunday, bring some snacks and come out to hear the great acoustic duo of Rob & Marty performing for our Fall Foliage Wine Tasting ($5 admission).

BIG CREEK: Big Creek will be featuring fresh local fruit from Heckman Orchards  and cheese from our friends at Leraysville Cheese.

CLOVER HILL: Celebrate our most glorious time of year with local wines complimented by local food. Clover Hill Vineyards & Winery will be partnering with BAD Farms located in Kempton, PA. We will be sampling and selling their cheeses, dips and other products fresh from the farm. We will also be celebrating Clover Hill’s 25th anniversary – enjoy a 25% discount off of all wines for 25 years of business.

FRANKLIN HILL: Tour the winery and learn about the 2010 grape harvest. We’ll also be celebrating the apple harvest as we release our new Apple wine. This Apple wine (back by popular demand) is made exclusively from local Cortland, Granny Smith, Red and Yellow Delicious apples. We will also include Klein Farm’s Cheeses. Klein Farm have a wide variety of wonderful homemade cheeses. In addition we will be featuring Robert Rothschild dips. For all of you who have not visited our new tasting room (and those of you who have), come enjoy a glass of wine on our deck.

CHERRY VALLEY: We will be having local cherry valley organic fruits and veggies in celebration of cherry valley becoming a National wildlife refuge. Tomblers home bakery will have goods to sample and baked goods for sale. Mary will be hosting a luncheon and grape stomp. (Tickets sold in advance). Check our website for last minute additions!

GALEN GLEN: Galen Glen Winery is excited to feature Gourmet Pizzas made with Local Ingredients from Beatrice’s Inferno - www.beatricesinferno.com. Beatrice’s Inferno is an authentic wood fired mobile Neapolitan pizzeria and will offer a selection of pizzas to purchase. Galen Glen will also be giving free Tractor & Wagon tours departing at 1, 2, 3 & 4pm. Bring your blanket and enjoy a bottle of wine, pizza and our stunning Autumn view!

VYNECRESTVynecrest Winery is a vendor in the Macungie Farmers Market which is a Buy Fresh Buy Local Market. For Harvest Weekend, we will pair our Estate Bottled Autumn Gold with another vendor from the market, Hereford Country Store's Pumpkin Roll, which is made from local longnecked pumpkins from Nan's Produce and More a local vendor at the market. We will have a tour with the Winemaker at 1p.m. each day and there will be music in the Vyneskeller from 1:30-4:30 by Rob & Marty on Saturday and Arianne on Sunday. No charge.

PINNACLE RIDGE: Pinnacle Ridge celebrates the 2010 harvest by hosting our annual BLUES in the BARN. Listen to live blues performed by some of the best musicians in the Lehigh Valley! Come and enjoy the sound of "Mr Z and the NightShift," "The Blues Factor," and "Bluestone." Sunday is our very popular open mike hosted by Ed Conover of Bluestone! Pinnacle Ridge will be serving wine by the glass and Tim will be serving his mouth watering Roast Pork and savory vegetarian Portabella Mushroom sandwiches both served with classic American side dishes. Admission is free!

  • Harvest Weekend – The Butcher, The Baker and The Winemaker – September 11 &12–The wineries proudly promote the state’s “Pennsylvania Preferred” program by partnering with manufacturers of other Pennsylvania products to showcase their high level of quality. Wine pairings, vineyard tours, food, music and other special activities are featured.
  • Chambourcin Weekend – October 16 & 17 - Taking place after the harvest is over, this event celebrates the “official wine grape of the Lehigh Valley,” the Chambourcin. It is the only wine made by all nine of the member wineries.
  • Nouveau Weekend – November 20 & 21 - This is the earliest chance to sample the first vintages of the new harvest. It’s also a great opportunity to purchase wines for the upcoming holiday season to give as gifts or to drink at dinner.
