Vino in the Valley 2019 Food & Wine Pairings

The following is a list of this year’s Vino in the Valley event food and wine pairings at the 8 Lehigh Valley Wine Trail member wineries which passport holders will receive during the four event weekends. Pairings are sample-sized/tasting-sized. Buy passports online HERE.

Week one: Beef Stroganoff w/ bowtie pasta – Chambourcin

Week two: Tortellini in a sun-dried tomato & basil sauce – Cabaret Amore

Week three: Italian Wedding Soup – Vidal Blanc

Week four: Grilled Italian Chicken in a Vodka Sauce over cavatelli pasta – Niagara

Black River Farms –

Local caterer feast will serve up Chicken Tikka Masala paired with the winery’s red blend, 90.

Food Truck: Wow Wagon
Thick slab bacon with a maple glaze, dipped in funnel cake batter and deep fried. Served on a stick, paired with Shiraz or Red Horizon

Weekend 1 – Vanilla Bean Buttercream, White Ganache Cake Pops made with our Cake wine to celebrate Elaine’s Birthday – paired with Cake wine

Weekend 2 – Wild Mushroom and Goat Cheese Arancini made with Trio – paired with Trio wine

Weekend 3 – Sir Walter Red Braised Pork Shank with Smoked Cheddar Grits – paired with Sir Walter’s Red wine

Weekend 4 – Pomegranate BBQ Duck Wings made with Crush served with a homemade ranch with carrots and celery – paired with Crush wine

Galen Glen – is partnering with Kowalonek’s Kielbasy Shop of Shenandoah. Like Galen Glen, Kowalonek’s is a multi-generational family business. Kowalonek’s is renowned for crafting the finest authentic old world style kielbasy. Galen Glen’s internationally reviewed Riesling with be paired with Kowalonek’s handmade kielbasy swirled into creamy macaroni & cheese.

Tolino Vineyards – Tolino Vineyards is proud to partner with the Little Corner Café in downtown Bangor to pair their delicious soups with our wines. Warm and tasty Mediterranean Chicken soup and Potato Corn Chowder with toasty homemade crostinis paired with Lilly and our newest Rose, Nine.

Also, live music in the tank room by various artists each Saturday from 1-4 pm.

Vynecrest – will be partnering with Cactus Blue restaurant in Bethlehem for the entire month of March showcasing the following pairings:

Banana and Cream Churro
Banana and cream rolled in a tortilla shell, fried and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce. Paired with Vynecrest’s Spiced Winter White wine.

Three crisp rolled corn tortillas stuffed with chicken and topped with queso dip, paired with Vynecrest’s Traminette wine.
